A fire that consumed a single-story home in Waianae has been put out by the Honolulu Fire Department. The fire on Lualualei Homestead Road was reported around 9:35 a.m. on Monday. The Honolulu Fire Department quickly sent 13 units and 44 personnel, arriving just 5 minutes later to find a "working fire" and immediately started fighting it.
The Honolulu Fire Department contained the fire by 9:59 a.m., confirming that no one was trapped or in danger inside the home. The fire was fully out by 11:53 a.m. Luckily, no firefighters were injured. The American Red Cross is helping support residents displaced by the fire.
After the fire, the Honolulu Fire Department started an investigation to determine its cause, origin, and the full extent of the damage. The findings are still being looked into, and a detailed report will be released once the investigation is complete.
