On Thursday, at 4:14 a.m., a crash on Vineyard Boulevard’s westbound off-ramp caused a loud noise and prompted a quick response from the Honolulu Fire Department. The first responders arrived in four minutes to find one person trapped in a damaged vehicle, needing immediate help, as per the Honolulu Police Department.
Honolulu Fire Department set up a command center and quickly took control of the rescue operation. The vehicle, severely damaged in the crash, was stabilized, and responders used hydraulic tools to free the trapped individual, working through the darkness to save them.
At 4:37 a.m., the patient was safely freed and handed over to Emergency Medical Services. A total of four Honolulu Fire Department teams and 15 personnel worked together to rescue the person trapped in the wreckage.
