The City of Frisco and the Frisco Police Department are currently investigating an incident where a bullet struck a school window. According to a press release from the Frisco Police Department, the situation unfolded yesterday morning at Hosp Elementary, with a Frisco Police Officer responding at approximately 9:28 a.m.

Evidence initially indicated that an object, believed to be a fragment of a bullet, had shattered a classroom window. The police quickly moved to ensure student safety and to investigate the unusual occurrence cautiously. In line with these precautions, students were dismissed early from school. After a thorough investigation, detectives managed to locate where the bullet had originated and, importantly, now believe the act was not carried out with malicious intent.

"There is no evidence to suggest that the school was targeted, nor is there a threat to the public, and students are safe to return to campus," stated the Frisco Police press release. This finding comes as a relief to parents, staff, and the surrounding community, as the possibility of violence in schools is a concern that sits heavy on the heart of every family.

While the FPD Crime Scene Unit was able to document and collect evidence, the case remains open. The Frisco Police Department is working in close partnership with the Frisco Independent School District, and upon finalizing the investigation, the matter is expected to be referred to the Denton County District Attorney’s Office.
