The Irvine Police Department has issued a call for assistance in locating a missing person, 53-year-old Irvine resident Jianhua ShangGuan. According to the official Facebook post by the local police, ShangGuan went missing early on the morning of Saturday. He was last observed exiting his residence at approximately 5:00 a.m., and shortly thereafter, around 5:28 a.m., his silver Toyota RAV4, bearing California license plate 9ANG107, was spotted on a surveillance camera near the Reserve at Orchard Hills.
Despite the seeming regularity of his departure, clues suggest an element of concern: ShangGuan left behind both his wallet and cell phone, personal artifacts that are typically seen as extensions of our modern existence. Additionally, a handgun has been reported missing from his home by family members, although there have been no reports of ShangGuan being a threat to the community. Since that morning, there have been no sightings nor any detections of his vehicle's license plate by law enforcement.
The police are urging anyone with information about ShangGuan's whereabouts or potential sightings of his silver Toyota RAV4 to exercise caution and contact them immediately.
