According to a social media post from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred outside a supermarket on Moncrief Road West, when a man engaged his victim under the pretense of needing change for a $20 bill. As the good Samaritan reached out to help, the suspect snatched the money and fled.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office detailed the sequence of events, stating, "He asked the victim for change for a $20 bill. When the victim pulled cash out to give him change, our suspect snatched the money and took off."
