A lunch break turned tragic when a man was fatally stabbed while sitting in his car in Lancaster. Manuel Covarrubias, the victim of this brutal attack, sustained multiple stab wounds to his head and neck on March 12, as reported by CBS News Los Angeles. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene on the 1800 block of Avenue I around 8:13 a.m. and attempted life-saving measures before paramedics transported Covarrubias to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Following an investigation, the Sheriff's Department apprehended Ruben Rosario, a 23-year-old Lancaster resident, as the suspect in the homicide. After identifying the vehicle linked to the crime, a traffic stop on March 14 led to Rosario's detainment and eventual arrest on suspicion of murder, according to details from KTLA. Rosario has since been charged with one count of murder by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, yet the motive behind the stabbing remains unclear with the investigation ongoing.
