Los Angeles police are currently searching for the driver of a Lamborghini SUV connected to a fatal hit-and-run collision in the Hancock Park area. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, near the intersection of Highland Avenue and First Street, as reported by KTLA. The crash involved a Toyota SUV that was struck by the Lamborghini, leading it to come to rest with its front end atop a large boulder.
The tragic crash resulted in the death of a female passenger and left a male victim in critical condition. Both victims were in the Toyota when the accident occurred. Emergency responders who arrived at the scene found the badly damaged vehicle and its two occupants, as confirmed by Los Angeles Police Department Officer Cervantes in a statement obtained by KTLA. Additionally, ABC7 detailed that another car was involved in the multi-vehicle incident, implying that the catastrophic chain of events was initiated by a speeding vehicle that subsequently fled the scene.
The hit-and-run investigation has been complicated by the lack of immediate descriptions available for both the suspect and the vehicle involved. The aftermath of the collision was severe, with the Lamborghini SUV reportedly overturning and the driver then deciding to abandon the vehicle and flee on foot, as mentioned by NBC Los Angeles. The escape of the driver adds another layer to the ongoing police search.
Those with any information are being encouraged to come forward and assist in the LAPD's continued efforts to bring to account those responsible.
