In a significant sweep against retail theft, Los Angeles Police Department's Rampart Division detectives, conducted a massive operation in MacArthur Park. According to KTLA, the bust, which took place on Wednesday, led to the discovery of approximately $300,000 worth of stolen goods in a storefront at the intersection of 6th and Alvarado Streets.
In a separate report by NBC Los Angeles, it was mentioned that at least three individuals were arrested in connection to the theft. The names of those taken into custody were not immediately released pending further investigation.
The operation, which included participation from the Rampart Burglary detectives and Rampart Vice, has been touted by the LAPD as a significant blow to retail theft rings. A Facebook post from the LAPD Rampart Division exuded pride in their efforts, illustrating the scope of the issue with a reference to the U-HAUL necessary for transporting the stolen goods.
