Las Vegas Metro Police have reported an incident at Meadows Mall where a group of juveniles attempted to cause disruption by live streaming a "takeover" on Instagram. The situation began to unfold around 5 p.m. Monday and officers managed to quickly get the scene under control. According to a News 3 LV report, the police have not disclosed the exact number of juveniles present or how many have been detained.
A flyer advertising the takeover surfaced online earlier that day, with the social media buzz aiming to widely broadcast and presumably to swiftly gather a crowd. In response to potential threats to the safety of staff and customers, Round 1 Bowling & Arcade, one of the establishments within Meadows Mall, has implemented age restrictions over the Spring Break period. Patrons must now be 21 and over, and any minors must be accompanied by a guardian aged 25 or older. "I would like to ensure that Round1 is doing everything in there power to keep staff and guests safe during 'Spring Break' here is Las Vegas," a spokesperson stated to News 3 LV.
Additional details are sparse, and the story is still developing. The Las Vegas Metro Police has not released further information about any possible charges or citations issued in connection with the incident. However, a report by FOX5 Las Vegas confirms that the department is taking necessary measures to ensure that the mall remains a safe environment for patrons. The community is advised to stay tuned to local news sources for updates as they continue to emerge.
