An injured climber was rescued by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue on Tuesday, after a fall in Juniper Canyon, a climbing area known for routes like "Armatron." The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue shared details of the incident on social media.

During the climb, a hold broke, causing the victim to fall about 20-30 feet and sustain an open leg fracture. The climber's partner and others nearby applied an improvised tourniquet and splint to stabilize the injury before lowering the victim to safer ground. Fire department personnel began hiking to the scene, and a unified command post was established by the SAR sergeant in the Pine Creek parking lot, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue on their Instagram post, officers aboard AIR1 responded to an injured climber by providing advanced medical aid, before securing them in a "hotseat" for evacuation. The climber was hoisted out and transported to a BLM helipad, where care was transferred to a ground ambulance crew for hospital treatment.
