Ready to mix up some Irish jig with a bit of Texas twang? The Blaggards are set to take the stage as the headlining act for St. Paddy's Texas Style event. On Saturday, March 15, from 1-8 p.m., Wayne Ferguson Plaza at 150 W. Church Street will transform into a celebration of St. Patrick’s Day and Texas Independence Day, all rolled into a free family-friendly extravaganza. City of Lewisville announced the spirited lineup that both steps and strums between two cultures.

As the fiddles ready up, students from McTeggart Irish Dance will inaugurate the festivities right at 1 p.m. on the City Hall stage. The event's roster is packed with acts such as Late to the Station, Beyond the Pale, Dustin Perkins Band, Real Treble, and, to get the crowd feeling some "Vertigo," Pride – U2 Tribute Band. New this time around, after a crowd-pleasing show at Western Days, is the Premier Event Lucha Libre Wrestling, set to showcase some bodyslam action in the courtyard of Lewisville Grand Theater, with matches at 2:30, 3:30, and 5:30 p.m. This blend of entertainment ensures an afternoon that’s as much a craic as it is a hootenanny.

Known for stirring up a stout mix of traditional Irish music and rock-n-roll, the Blaggards have built an international fanbase. They're not new to the game, with more than 19 million streams on Spotify and a staggering 69 million on Pandora. Certainly, tunes like their sea shanty hit "Drunken Sailor" are poised to make everyone's feet tap to the stout rock rhythm as they take over the amps at this year's St. Paddy's.

Worry not about where to hitch your wagon; free event parking is aplenty. Locations include Lewisville City Hall and surrounding public lots like Visitor Information Center at 247 W. Main Street, Lewisville Grand Theater on 100 N. Charles Street, and on-street options too. Says the City of Lewisville, this affair plays its part in the "Old Town" Big Move, a piece of the broader Lewisville 2025 vision plan that’s aiming to reinvigorate the local scene.
