Long Beach had its share of police activity on Thursday night, as detailed in a recent LBPD Blotter report. Officers responded to a no-hit shooting on the 2100 block of East Anaheim Street, where, according to the report, "a female adult suspect and male adult victim were having a dispute inside a parked vehicle when the suspect shot at the victim." Although the intended target managed to hastily exit the scene, no injuries were reported, and the suspect was subsequently arrested by the police. The investigation of this incident continues to unfold.
In a separate occurrence earlier that day, LBPD officers, during a routine patrol around Spring St and Santa Fe Av, observed a suspect apparently committing a violation. On approaching the individual, it was discovered he possessed a loaded firearm. "The suspect was arrested and was found to be a prohibited possessor," the report describes.
Adding to the list of recovered firearms, Long Beach officers detained another individual around 6:30 p.m. The suspect, harboring outstanding felony warrants, was apprehended in the 800 block of East Pacific Coast Highway. In the process of the arrest, officers uncovered not only a firearm but also ammunition and narcotics in the suspect's possession. This individual was also identified as a prohibited possessor.
The LBPD highlighted the positive outcomes of these events, noting on their official blotter, "Great work officers! Last night, officers safely took two guns off the streets."
