Los Angeles weather can be as unpredictable as the traffic on the 405, and this week is proving to be no exception. According to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service, Angelenos can expect a brief reprieve from the rain this morning, with only a 20 percent chance of showers before 10 am and highs hovering near a cool 63 degrees. Yet as the sun dips below the horizon tonight, the chance of showers rises again to 30 percent, under a mostly cloudy sky with a somewhat cozy low of around 54.
Residents searching for sunshine might have to wait until the new workweek begins, as Sunday looks to be a little wet, with showers likely after 10 am. While navigating through the damp streets, you might encounter gusts as high as 20 mph, although the rain should only leave behind less than a tenth of an inch of precipitation. As the twilight encroaches, Sunday night won’t let up on the damp conditions, offering a dicey 50 percent chance of showers and a gradual decrease in the wind, which initially can be as stubborn as a mule with speeds up to 15 mph before calming down after midnight.
Looking ahead to the start of the workweek, Monday grants us a 20 percent chance of rain before 10 am before the clouds finally part, bequeathing us with sunny skies and a high near 62 degrees. The weather seems to be in a more generous mood Monday night, with forecasters promising mostly clear conditions and nighttime lows nestled around a crisp 45 degrees.
As we hurtle towards Wednesday, it’s an inconsistent mix of sun and rain. Tuesday is mostly sunny with a high of about 65 degrees, but come Tuesday night, rain chances creep back in, particularly after the wee hours of 4 am. Showers are anticipated to persist into Wednesday, mainly after 10 am. By Wednesday night, the rain should mostly be a memory, occurring mainly before 10 pm and leaving behind a mostly cloudy curtain and a low around 46 degrees.
The rest of our weekly weather narrative seesaws a bit, with Thursday flirting with the chance of rain and quite a sunny disposition expected by Friday, where highs are forecast to blossom to a balmy 69 degrees.
