An attempted murder in Temecula landed a Los Angeles County man behind bars yesterday, as reported by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Deputies were called to the 29000 block of Mira Loma Drive at 9:18 a.m. to find a man with multiple stab wounds. The suspect, later identified as Ricardo Castro, 51, had fled the scene by the time officials arrived. According to the department's press release, the victim has since been treated and is in stable condition.
The case quickly escalated as the Southwest Investigations Bureau took over the process and managed to quickly identify Castro. With the aid of specialized units like the Riverside County Gang Impact Team and Special Enforcement Bureau K9 Team, authorities were able to locate and apprehend Castro in a vacant field in Temecula. He was later booked for attempted murder at the Cois Byrd Detention Center. The incident has been linked to domestic violence but is still being actively investigated.
Sergeant Joe Narciso, the reporting supervisor, has confirmed that no further details concerning the attack will be released at this time, and that no additional suspects are currently being sought after.
