A rash of brazen headphone thefts by a group on bicycles has hit multiple Manhattan neighborhoods, police say. According to a report by ABC7NY, the suspects carried out their thefts on the afternoon of St. Patrick's Day, targeting unsuspecting pedestrians across various locations from Greenwich Village to the Upper East Side. The NYPD has confirmed at least seven incidents during the spree, which occurred between 4:15 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Adding to the series of thefts reported by ABC7NY, 1010 WINS provided further details on the crimes. The group, which utilized Citi Bikes, executed their snatch-and-grab scheme with precision and speed, preying on a total of six individuals within just three hours. A mixture of four women in their 20s and 30s and two men in their 30s and 40s fell victim to the cyclists. Witnesses described the suspects making a quick escape following each theft, effectively utilizing the bike-sharing network to facilitate their escape.

At 1 Jane St. in Greenwich Village, a woman's headphones were forcibly removed from her at 7:15 p.m. Then, merely fifteen minutes later, another woman experienced the same crime on West 14th Street in the Meatpacking District. The perpetrators then moved uptown, continuing their spree in Harlem and, subsequently, targeting a woman in Central Park and two more victims on the Upper East Side. Not a single victim sustained injuries during this series of thefts, NYPD officials stated.

Police have released images of four suspects they believe are involved in the recent series of thefts, appealing to the public for help in identifying the individuals.
