Marysville Gears Up for Spring Cleaning: Clean Sweep and Shred-A-Thon Events AnnouncedSource: City of Marysville, Washington

Spring is in the air, and for the folks in Marysville, this season is synonymous with purging the old to make way for the new. The city is stepping up once again to assist residents with their annual spring cleaning efforts by hosting two key events: Clean Sweep and Shred-A-Thon. On April 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Marysville Public Works will become the local hub for disposing of household clutter, located at 80 Columbia Ave, as reported by the City of Marysville's announcement.

The Clean Sweep initiative offers an array of services, including the disposal of bagged garbage, yard waste except for dirt, sod, or rocks, and the recycling of electronics, scrap metal, and up to four tires per person. However, they must be clean and off the wheels. The event will also offer free compost for up to half a yard for Marysville residents to enrich their gardens, and city utility bills will be used to verify residency. It's to be noted that items such as refrigerators, hazardous waste, and light bulbs will not be accepted, leaving the residents of Marysville to seek alternate disposal options.

Following the Clean Sweep event, the Shred-A-Thon will take place on May 3, allowing residents to safely discard their documents after tax season's completion from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Marysville Community Center, situated at 1015 State Ave. Individuals can bring up to six file-size boxes of paperwork for shredding and Clean Styrofoam and bubble wrap for recycling, according to the city's guidelines, and while there is a call for donations of cash and nonperishable food items for the Marysville Community Food Bank, the city organizers suggest that arriving after 9:15 a.m. may result in a quicker progression through the anticipated line.
