A Gibson County man, identified as Brandon Fairchild, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts relating to child exploitation, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced recently. The TBI received a tip in late 2024 about child sex abuse material being uploaded to an electronic service provider account. During their investigation, which was sparked by a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, agents were able to trace the account back to Fairchild, according to TBI's official news release.
After procuring a search warrant on March 9, 2025, TBI agents executed the warrant and arrested Fairchild, who is now facing one count of sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of unlawful photography. These charges, while serious in nature, are currently only accusations, and Fairchild remains presumed innocent until proven guilty, as per the due process of law. TBI's official newsroom reminds the public that "the charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct and not evidence."
Brandon Fairchild, born on May 27, 1981, was booked into the Gibson County Jail following his arrest. This case stands as a part of a wider effort by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to clamp down on online child exploitation. TBI, as an ICAC affiliate of the Tennessee ICAC Task Force, encourages anyone with information regarding this or similar cases to reach out to their tipline or report through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline. Action News 5 reported on the incident and the steps taken by authorities in response to the crime.
The TBI took to social media to inform the public about the arrest, highlighting the charges faced by Fairchild. In their post, the agency stated, "JUST IN: A Medina man accused of uploading child sex abuse material is facing multiple charges, after an investigation by @TBInvestigation special agents." The investigators involved in bringing these charges to light aim to safeguard the most vulnerable from the detritable impact that arises from such criminal actions.
