The National Weather Service in Memphis has forecast mixed weather conditions over the coming days. According to their latest update, today might start with a slight 20 percent chance of morning showers before it gives way to overcast skies with a peak temperature of around 81 degrees. Winds are expected to pick up, hailing from the south at 5 to 15 mph, adding a gentle urgency beneath the cloud-heavy canopy.
As night falls, the likelihood of precipitation climbs to a modest 30 percent, ushering in possible showers after 5 am with an atmospheric low settling around 62 degrees and a persistent south-southeast wind maintaining a 10 to 15 mph pace. The umbrellas might have to stand at the ready just as night murmurs into the domain of day.
Indications are that Saturday will witness showers extending their courtesy throughout the day, eventually evolving into a possible thunderstorm between 1 and 4 pm before returning to just showers post 4 pm. "Showers before 1pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 1pm and 4pm, then showers after 4pm," the National Weather Service detailed. South winds could gust as high as 25 mph, and the chance of rain is a definite 90 percent, with new rainfall reaching up to half an inch.
Transitioning into Sunday evening, an emphatic 90 percent chance of precipitation looms, forecasting showers and potentially severe thunderstorms before 4 a.m. This is followed by more showers likely to trace the journey into dawn, while a south-southwest wind shifts directions post-midnight, whispering signals of changing weather patterns.
Monday, however, promises a respite with the National Weather Service projecting "Mostly sunny, with a high near 64," as clearer skies bid farewell to the tumultuous weekend weather. By Tuesday, the cycle may recommence with a mostly sunny outlook interrupted by a 40 percent chance of nocturnal showers after 1 am, leading to a familiar pattern of midweek thunderstorms and showers that blanket the region with a 70 percent and 60 percent chance of precipitation respectively, on Wednesday and Wednesday night.
