
The Metropolitan Police Department is on the lookout for a suspect involved in a recent armed carjacking incident in Northeast Washington, D.C. The crime took place on Thursday, March 13, around 7 p.m. on the 1800 block of Varnum Street, as per an official Metropolitan Police Department release. The victim, who was sitting in their parked car, was confronted by assailants, one of whom displayed a firearm and coerced the victim into surrendering their property.
After complying with the demands, the victim was robbed of both belongings and vehicle, which the suspects used to quickly flee the scene. In an attempt to apprehend the individuals responsible, the Metropolitan Police Department has made public surveillance photos of one of the suspects.
In an effort to encourage potential witnesses or anyone with relevant knowledge to come forward, the Metropolitan Police Department is offering a substantial reward. "The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia," the Metropolitan Police Department stated in the notice of the incident.
