Residents and commuters in Nassau County, Florida, will need to brace themselves for a slight disruption as the Capital Improvement Projects Department has announced an infrastructure upgrade that will see the Chester Road and Pages Dairy Road intersection temporarily shut down. According to a Facebook post by Nassau County, the project is set to start on April 1st with an expected completion date of April 4, all dependent on the whims of the weather and any unexpected developments.
The work involves reconstructing both the mentioned intersection and the Water Forced Main on Chester Road just across the David Hallman Parkway intersection, this will lead to the closure of Chester Road to the Entrance of Home Depot for the duration of the work. Traffic flow will nonetheless be maintained, no doubt a relief to many, and will be managed according to the Florida Department of Transportation design standards the county has assured drivers that there will be a detour in place via Courtney Isles Way to Chester Road and from the Home Depot Parking Lot to SR 200 / A1A.
For those typically impatient with roadworks, the Nassau County Capital Improvement Projects Department is asking for a measure of understanding as they undertake what they describe as "needed improvements" for the community. Nassau County officials seem to be conscientious about the impact of this construction, believing that the short-term inconvenience will likely lead to long-term benefits.
Questions or concerns from the public are being directed to Project Administrator James Cuneo of CSI Geo, individuals who need more information or wish to express their opinions can reach out to him via email at [email protected] or by phone call at (386) 983-2810 the county's communication channels appear open for this purpose. As communities across the nation often grapple with the growing pains of improvement and expansion, Nassau County seems committed to not just constructing roads but paving pathways to better service their residents.
