A 37-year-old Northville resident lost his life in a tragic vehicle accident this past Friday. The incident occurred on Hines Drive near Six Mile Road and involved a single car that caught fire upon impact. The driver was the sole occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by Hometown Life.
According to ClickOnDetroit, a vehicle was traveling south when it suddenly went off the road and hit the base of the Six Mile Road bridge, causing it to catch fire. Despite quick efforts from emergency services, the person inside could not be saved. The Northville Township Police and the Michigan State Police Accident Investigation Team are working together to figure out what caused the crash.
Northville Township Police Department have not yet identified the cause of the accident, nor have they released the name of the victim. A statement from the police mentioned by Audacy indicated that it was unclear what prompted the vehicle to leave the roadway. The authorities have also not commented on whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
