An 18-year-old victim died following a shooting incident in Ottawa County, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred near the Arthur Street and 40th Avenue intersection in Wright Township last Saturday evening.
The victim was transported to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, where they succumbed to a gunshot wound, as reported by WZZM 13. Grand Rapids Police Department was first on the scene after the hospital alerted authorities to the injury. OCSO deputies later joined the investigation.
Another 18-year-old, believed to be connected to the incident, is in custody. Their name is withheld pending arraignment. "One person, another 18-year-old, is in custody related to this investigation," OCSO disclosed. The Sheriff's Office is seeking further information and has asked the public to contact their office, Ottawa County Central Dispatch, or Silent Observer with any pertinent details, as reported by WWMT.
