
Firefighters in downtown Los Angeles were engaged in an intense effort to suppress multiple structure fires in the early hours of Monday morning. As per the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the first blaze was reported at 1:43 a.m. at 1355 S. Flower Street. The fire quickly took hold of a two-story commercial building, with an additional one-story building behind it also becoming engulfed in flames.
The situation escalated when a second fire broke out around 2:15 a.m. at 1338 S. Flower Street. Firefighters, battled with flames that extended into two adjoining commercial units, were dispatched to this location, according to LAFD updates. Following the extinguishing of the fires, no injuries have been reported.
Over 100 firefighters were brought together to address the emergency, with the fires being knocked down by 3:20 a.m., as stated in a later LAFD report. Overhaul operations and the remaining hot spots kept the incident active throughout the morning, with areas around the intersection closed to traffic. Proceed with caution and expect disruptions were advice given to drivers.
