The Ventura County Combined Agency Team (VCAT), in collaboration with the Ventura County Fentanyl and Overdose Crimes Unit (VC FOCUS), took down a major drug operation, arresting one Juvencio Alarcon, 41, in Oxnard.
Local narcotics detectives served search warrants at two Oxnard residences linked to Alarcon on Wednesday, where they uncovered approximately 12 pounds of methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, cash suspected as drug proceeds, and further evidence indicative of drug sales. According to a news release issued by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, the investigation spanned three months and culminated in a decisive action that law enforcement hopes will send a message to other would-be kingpins.
The operation took place at locations on the 5400 block of Roland Way and the 4400 block of J Street. Alarcon is currently held responsible for the distribution of these severe drugs to the denizens of Ventura County. As described in the official report, the case against the suspect is slated for review by the Ventura County District Attorney, with additional arrests anticipated as the investigation presses on.
VCAT's strategy, comprising local and federal enforcement agencies, takes a collaborative, multijurisdictional approach to tackle the illicit drug problem in Ventura County. This latest operation underscores their commitment to rooting out, significant and mid-level drug offenders along with their criminal organizations. The release, prepared by Sergeant Odilon Malagon and posted on March 21, emphasizes that the agency's actions are directly aimed at the illegal activities that adversely affect Ventura County residents.
Ventura County Crime Stoppers has also offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to further arrests, ensuring that the community can play a role in bringing the web of drug operations to an end. For more information, concerned citizens are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
