Last week, the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office's Detective Frame and K-9 Geo had the honor of hosting other Wisconsin Electronic Storage Detection (ESD) K-9 units for a day of training at the Albert & Ann Deshur JCC Rainbow Day Camp in Fredonia. According to a social media post from the sheriff's office, the teams spent the day sharpening their skills in detecting electronic devices across new environments, tackling the challenge of locating gadgets tucked away in various rooms and storage solutions.
The role of ESD K-9s is crucial in modern law enforcement, providing a unique capability to sniff out electronic devices that may contain crucial evidence in criminal investigations. Their ability to discover devices that humans might overlook makes these dogs invaluable assets. The training sessions like the one held at the day camp equips both the dogs and their handlers with experience to confront an array of scenarios they might encounter in the field.
The JCC embraced the visiting ESD teams with warmth and hospitality, showering the handlers with a goodie basket filled with treats. These baskets were brimming with teas, spices, and handmade cards from Bonim Farms, as per the sheriff's office's account.
