On Thursday evening, a domestic violence incident at Lake Piru Recreational Area led to the arrest of parolee Curtis Hood for multiple offenses. According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded quickly to a reported altercation involving Hood and an adult female. A witness at the scene initiated the call, voicing concerns about the encounter's violence.
It was revealed that Hood was not just involved in the immediate dispute, but also had an out of state warrant for his arrest related to parole violations. The resources deployed to effectively manage and ultimately resolve the situation included the Sheriff’s K9 Unit and the West County Special Enforcement Unit. Hood attempted to hastily leave the scene in his vehicle, but an enforcement stop enabled officers to take him into custody without further incident.
Further investigation allowed detectives to develop probable cause for additional charges against Hood. The crimes detailed in the official report include corporal injury to a spouse, attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment, and issuing criminal threats.
Sergeant Jarrod Foote, in preparation for the news release, expressed the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office’s dedication to addressing public concerns with actions that reinforce community trust and collaboration.
