The Phoenix community is troubled by the disappearance of Marcus Freiberger, a popular yoga instructor from the Melrose District, who has been missing for nearly a month. The 45-year-old's last known location was on February 21, where he was supposed to meet someone for a blind date in a parking garage near 2nd Avenue and Van Buren Street, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.

Freiberger's father, Dutch, expressed his concern to FOX 10 Phoenix, stating, "He's a super young man, and he’s the most personable individual and when you speak to his friends, they’ll tell you he’s just a magnet." Despite past struggles with money and drugs and a history of rehab, Marcus was not one to just disappear—especially not to leave behind his beloved dog, Thomas, who was found alone days after Marcus went missing. "He’s never disappeared this long," Dutch disclosed to FOX 10 Phoenix.

Forrest Kruger, the owner of Melrose Yoga, where Marcus had been teaching, praised the missing instructor in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix: "Kind of guy all of his friends were coming in here for his classes. I met lots of them. Nothing but positive things to say. He was a great guy, is a great yoga teacher, too. I took his class myself." The disappearance has left many baffled, as Marcus was seen as being firmly on a path back to a stable and promising lifestyle. "Where is he? What happened to him? He was making progress and doing all these great things and getting ahead in life, which is making him happy," said Kruger.

As the authorities and community continue to tirelessly search, details such as Marcus' vehicle—a white 2021 GMC Sierra pickup truck with an Arizona plate reading 3MA66L—could potentially offer clues to his location. Anyone with information is urged to call Phoenix Police at 602-534-2121. Marcus' father is also seeking assistance to unlock his son's cell phone, hopeful that it may contain information that could help to quickly trace his whereabouts.

Coverage from Ground News mirrors the concern of those close to Marcus, emphasizing the sense of urgency and the close-knit nature of the Melrose District community in the ongoing search.
