Plainview, Texas resident Alejandro Aguirre, age 28, has entered a guilty plea on charges of producing child pornography. In a court proceeding overseen by U.S. Magistrate Judge Amanda 'Amy' R. Burch, Aguirre admitted his guilt. Following the guilty plea, he was taken into custody as he awaits sentencing, with potential penalties ranging from a mandatory minimum of 15 years to a maximum of 30 years in federal prison.

Aguirre's admission of guilt comes after the Amarillo Police Department received tips in June 2023 about his illicit interactions with minors using a social media application. The investigation escalated when officers learned that Aguirre, contacting minors through the app, had engaged in sexual intercourse with at least one minor. In Amarillo, a 16-year-old victim spoke during a forensic interview about the sexual activities she had experienced with Aguirre.

Upon interviewing Aguirre, detectives discovered that not only did he confirm his sexual relations with the minor but also videotaped the encounter on his phone. Following a search warrant being issued, investigators recovered the described footage, which, shockingly, depicted a different minor than the previously interviewed victim. In assistance with the Plainview Police Department, APD officers managed to identify this new victim, another 16-year-old resident of Plainview.

The subsequent investigative measures led to another forensic interview, where the minor from the video confirmed that Aguirre had approached her via a social networking platform and recorded their intercourse in Plainview. Accordingly, the searched cell phone held evidence of the crime, as disclosed by Aguirre himself. The collaborative effort between local law enforcement and the FBI's Dallas Field Office has brought the severity of Aguirre's actions to light, as Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Rancourt leads the prosecution.

Updates on the case will be available at the official U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas website.
