Authorities in Plymouth Township are on the hunt for a suspected puppy thief, after a woman made off with a pricey German Shepherd from a pet store. The suspect, identified as Zendaya Zoe, is accused of snatching the $2,800 dog from Playful Pets back in February, as reported by NBC Philadelphia. The Plymouth Township Police Department has issued an active felony arrest warrant for her capture.
According to surveillance footage obtained by authorities, Zoe was seen smiling as she took the puppy from its pen before making a run from the shop. FOX29 stated that the suspected vehicle, a red Ford Ranger, is also believed to have been stolen from Medford, Massachusetts, prior to the puppy theft. Now the police are intensifying their efforts, with tips suggesting that Zoe may have fled to the south.
Plymouth Township Police are urging anyone with information on Zoe's whereabouts to come forward. She is known to have ties in the Philadelphia area, Union County, New Jersey, and was recently under arrest in Atlantic City. Investigators, who police said Zoe stole the truck before she took the puppy, are considering the possibility of her having fled to either South Carolina or Florida, as indicated in a statement by the 6abc report.
Anyone with pertinent information regarding the case, or who might have sighted Zendaya Zoe, is requested to get in touch with the Plymouth Township Police Department at 610-279-1901.
