Two juveniles were arrested in Roxbury following the detection of gunfire by ShotSpotter technology, leading to the quick response of Boston Police who found and aided a gunshot victim. The suspects, a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old male from Dorchester were taken into custody yesterday after officers were alerted to shots fired at 62 Warren Street.

Around 4:56 p.m., Boston Police Officers assigned to District B-2 responded to the ShotSpotter activation. Upon arrival, they found a 29-year-old man with gunshot wounds. In a swift move, they provided first aid until the arrival of Boston EMS who transported the victim to a local hospital, where his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening. As investigators processed the crime scene, they secured surveillance video that captured the alleged involvement of the two suspects, according to the Boston Police Department.

Following the investigation's progress, detectives circulated images and descriptions of the suspects, which led to Officers spotting two individuals on Moreland Street matching those descriptions. The 17-year-old was apprehended without incident,, while the 15-year-old led officers on a short chase before being detained, with the assistance of the Boston Housing Police.

Both youths face a series of severe charges: "Assault with Intent to Murder While Armed, Discharging a Firearm Within 500 Feet of a Building, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Trespassing," as the Boston Police Department reported. During booking, a concealed plastic bag containing what is believed to be crack cocaine was found on the 15-year-old, resulting in an additional charge of possession of a Class B Substance.

The two suspects are expected to appear in Boston Juvenile Court.
