In a coordinated law enforcement effort, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department carried out a crime suppression and compliance operation in several communities, including Lytle Creek, North Rialto, and Rosena Ranch. The action ensued on Friday, as per an announcement from the Sheriff's Department.
The operation was a multi-agency affair, with involvement from the Sheriff's Department – Fontana Station, teamed up with the Street Enforcement Team, the County Probation, and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation – Division of Adult Parole Operations. The agencies came together to thoroughly check into the compliance status of parolees, probationers, and sex offender registrants within the targeted locales. According to a press release, over 50 such individuals were scrutinized during this sweep.
Enforcement activities were not restricted to checks alone; over 60 traffic stops punctuated the operation, with additional pedestrian contacts being made, alongside attempts to serve outstanding warrants. The press release, issued on Monday, details contacts with known gang affiliates and with individuals for whom possession of firearms and ammunition was verboten by law. Several arrests resulted, both felony and misdemeanor, and a significant cache of firearms and illegally held ammunition was seized.
Noteworthy within this broad operation was the action taken against Matos Rizaldi, a registered sex offender, who protocol had led officials to the 600 block of West Casmalia Street in North Rialto. The released statement from Deputy D. Rapisardi indicated that Rizaldi was subsequently booked at the West Valley Detention Center on a parole violation after the discovery of several troubling digital photographs of children on devices in his possession, thus highlighting the broader impact such operations aim to effectuate in public safety.
