Students at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita are on edge after reports have surfaced that a peeping Tom has filmed women in campus bathrooms. The unsettling incidents have occurred as far back as October 2024, with at least two female students coming forward stating they were victims of such an invasion of privacy.

One victim recounted her ordeal to FOX 11, detailing that the incident took place on October 22, 2024, inside a bathroom at the college's Valencia campus when she noticed a hand and phone under the stall divider, the man, clad in all-black attire, fled when she confronted him, and although she tried to give chase and even recorded the pursuit, the suspect managed to evade her. She later reported the incident to the authorities, and the school officials have been on the lookout for the potential repeat offender ever since but the alleged peeping Tom has not been caught.

A different student's experience, eerily similar to the one in October, occurred on March 4, in a separate bathroom on the same campus. According to an interview with KTLA, the student posted a video on Instagram hoping to raise awareness and protect other students, despite initial advice from College of the Canyons and the SCV Sheriffs that doing so could alert the suspect.

In response to these incidents, the College of the Canyons sent a statement to FOX 11 confirming that a second incident happened on March 4 in Hasley Hall and school officials have been briefed on what occurred and are alert for future incidents, as the institution takes the safety of its students very seriously. While College of the Canyons encouraged anyone with information to reach out to Campus Security or the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, neither victim was able to get a good look at the suspect which has only compounded the challenge of ensuring the well-being of the student body, as they foster an environment of vigilance and care.

The ongoing investigation has not yielded any concrete descriptions of the alleged perpetrator, and as the college community grapples with the implications of these incidents, those with any relevant information are urged to contact Campus Safety at 661-362-3229, or the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-260-4000 to assist in bringing this matter to a resolution according to both FOX 11's report and the aforementioned statement provided by the college.
