The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office has ushered in a new era of public engagement with the appointment of Amber Raub as its Public Information Officer. Announced today by the office, Raub is set to take on the responsibilities of media relations, addressing public inquiries, and spearheading initiatives aimed to promote transparency within the community.
With a background rich in journalistic practice, Raub is primed to actively forge a connection between the office and the St. Louis residents they serve. "Clear, consistent, and open communication is crucial in building trust," Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore emphasized, adding, "Amber’s expertise will be invaluable as we work to keep the public engaged and informed while striving to achieve a higher level of public safety for the St. Louis community." These remarks came through an official statement released by the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office.
A University of Missouri-Columbia alumnus, Raub's journey through journalism and political science has culminated in a career highlighting her roles as news reporter and anchor across various local affiliates such as NBC, CBS, and FOX. In her new role, she is characterized to be responsible for maintaining clear lines of communication between the office, the media, and the public.
"I’m honored to be joining a team so committed to fairness, justice, and transparency," Raub told the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office in an interview. She expressed eagerness to provide "the public with clear and timely information as we work together toward positive change." Raub steps into the shoes of Christine Bertelson, whose retirement prompted the transition within the organization.
The office also seized the opportunity to render thanks to Bertelson, with Gore stating on the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office, "I would like to thank Christy for her great work managing our public communications through one of the most challenging periods in the history of the Circuit Attorney’s Office. Christy’s wise counsel and tireless work played a major role in our efforts to restore the Circuit Attorney’s Office to its rightful place in the criminal justice system."
