
The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office is seeking community assistance in locating a suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident. The crash took place in Porter Township last Thursday around 6:30 p.m., when a driver collided with a parked vehicle in a driveway, resulting in injuries to the parked vehicle's driver who was later hospitalized, according to a report by WWMT.
Following the collision, officials said the suspect fled the scene, heading west on County Road 669 in what was described as a light-colored pickup truck with notable damage to the passenger side front fender area. A news release on the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office added detail to the account, mentioning that the injured individual was transported to Bronson Hospital for treatment.
"Sheriff Daniel E Abbott reports that Deputies are asking for help from the public to identify the suspect in a hit and run crash," read a statement from the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office. The authorities are urging anyone who may recognize the damaged vehicle, or has any relevant information, to come forward and contact the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office at (269) 657-3101.
