Deputy Joseph "Shawn" Singleton has made his return to the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office, a reunion highlighted in a recent social media spotlight from the department. According to a post on the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, Singleton served initially between 2008 and 2014 and rejoined the force in 2024. The post, published on March 24th, 2025, details Singleton's roles and aspirations within the department.
Since rejoining the force, Deputy Singleton has not only completed Basic Law Enforcement Training and Field Training, but he has quickly become an integral part of the "B" Squad as a Patrol Investigator and Midland town car. His commitment to law enforcement is further established by his roles on the Civil Emergency Response Team (CERT). In addition, Singleton is a certified Radar/Lidar operator and Field Training Officer, skills that underscore his multi-faceted capabilities in serving the community.
Outside the demands of his badge, Singleton invests time outdoors with his family, including his wife Blaire and their three children, Landon, Levi, and Susie. His downtime also consists of fellowship with the Wilderness Scout Ministries in Stanfield, an involvement that reflects his engagement with the larger community beyond law enforcement. This blend of family life and community service constructs a comprehensive portrait of the man behind the badge.
Singleton harbors ambitions to further expand his expertise and impact within the force. His goals to eventually join the Crime Reduction Unit, to advance possibly to Vice/Narcotics, and to become a firearms instructor speak to a vision of growth in both skill and leadership. The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office commends Deputy Singleton for his "dedication, leadership, and service to our community," a sentiment evidently shared by his peers and the citizens who depend on him.
