
Wendy Jackson has been appointed as the new Warden at Pulaski State Prison. Jackson, who has been serving as Superintendent at the Metro Transitional Center (TC), will begin her new role on April 16, as announced by the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC).
Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Tyrone Oliver praised Jackson for her leadership and dedication. Her responsibilities will include overseeing approximately 1,194 female offenders and the facility's staff. Jackson began her career in 2008 as a Correctional Officer at Bleckley Probation Detention Center and has since advanced through various roles within the Georgia Department of Corrections.
Before her position at Metro TC, Jackson held roles including Correctional Officer II at Metro State Prison, Chief of Security, Unit Manager at Lee Arrendale State Prison, and Assistant Superintendent at Lee Arrendale TC. She holds an associate degree in early childhood education from Perimeter College.
Jackson's training includes the Professional Management Program through Columbus State University and Basic Correctional Officer Training, among others. Commissioner Oliver expressed confidence in her ability to lead Pulaski State Prison effectively.
