An undercover operation by West Tennessee authorities has led to the dismantling of a drug trafficking ring in Whitehaven, resulting in the seizure of a substantial amount of narcotics and the arrest of three men. According to WREG, the investigation, which began in February, culminated in the seizure of around three ounces of fentanyl, over 1,200 counterfeit pills designed to mimic alprazolam, known as Xanax bars, comprised of cocaine and methamphetamine, amongst other illicit substances.
The collaborative investigation involved the West Tennessee Violent Crime and Drug Task Force, alongside the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and focused on narcotics distribution from two specific locations: an apartment on Ila Court and a home on Barton Street. Alongside the drugs, agents also confiscated six firearms, including AR-style rifles, two pounds of marijuana, and over $6,600 in cash, details provided by Local Memphis. An Audi A6 was also seized in the operation.
The three men arrested, identified as Nicholas Parker, 23; Preston Hill, 27; and Euriqueo Holloway, 48, are now facing multiple drug and weapon charges. As reported by FOX13 Memphis, all three were previously convicted felons, with at least two on felony probation at the time of arrest.
The successful operation is part of Tennessee's initiative to address violent crime in the state's most dangerous zip codes. District Attorney Mulroy was quoted by Local Memphis stating, "This is further evidence of the value of our VCIF grant initiative targeting the highest crime Memphis zip codes.” He continued, “We’re steering addicts toward treatment but going hard against the big-time distributors. It’s a credit to the skill and dedication of the DTF team.” Drug Task Force Director Johnie Carter lauded the agents involved in the operation, citing their efforts in targeting "violent felons and repeat offenders that are selling this poison and driving the violent crime rate up here in Memphis and all over west Tennessee."
