A Woodland Hills family endured a harrowing experience when an armed suspect invaded their home on Tuesday morning, police report. The incident, which occurred just before 6 a.m. in the 22700 block of MacFarlane Drive, involved a family being zip-tied, locked in a closet and the home subsequently ransacked. According to ABC7, Los Angeles police responded to an assault with a deadly weapon report after the suspect forcibly confined the mother, father, and son, demanding money.
The family, after freeing themselves nearly half a day later, sought help from a neighbor. The mother sustained injuries during the invasion and was transported to a hospital. Her current condition is undisclosed. As per information obtained by CBS Los Angeles, the suspect managed to take off with approximately $2,000 worth of items after using wood and nails to secure the door shut, though it remains unclear when the suspect entered the residence.
The Los Angeles Police Department, with its Robbery-Homicide Division now leading the investigation, has yet to provide substantial details on the suspect, who was last observed donning black clothes and a mask, as reported by CBS Los Angeles.
