The Atlanta Braves Holdings, Inc. is making moves off the field with its recent purchase of Pennant Park, a six-building office complex that spans 34 acres of land strategically located at the crossroads of I-75 and I-285. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the property, which sits adjacent to The Battery Atlanta, boasts over 763,000 square feet of office space and a substantial amount of parking with more than 2,700 spaces available. Previously owned by Rubenstein Partners since 2017, the site is home to 24 tenants, including The Home Depot.
Braves Development Company, a subsidiary under the Atlanta Braves Holdings umbrella, sees the acquisition as significant growth for their real estate portfolio. In a statement obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta, Mike Plant, the company's president and CEO, emphasized that this move represents "a strategic step in the growth of our real estate portfolio and creates a significant opportunity for Atlanta Braves Holdings to enhance the tenant experience while investing in the future of our growing community at The Battery Atlanta." The deal is expected to bolster the Braves’ land holdings by over 30% and increase available square footage across its properties to the tune of 3 million.
The acquisition arrives just in time for the Braves' home opener against the Marlins and is likely to be a game changer for fans looking for parking and amenities near Truist Park. Atlanta News First cited Braves fan Benson Todd expressing excitement about the potential enhancements, noting that previous developments by the Braves have added walkable and enjoyable options in the area.
Pennant Park includes Pennant Commons, which features four buildings housed around The Quad, a communal plaza, and Pennant View, which consists of two six-story buildings. The acquisition isn't just about square footage and parking; it brings a host of amenities like fitness centers, cafes, and outdoor recreation areas. "I think it will be excellent because for most of our fans it would be additional parking, close parking and very accessible to get in and out of the interstate," Phyllis Davis, another Braves fan, told Atlanta News First. The complex is designed to cater to the roughly 9 million annual visitors to The Battery, dovetailing with the organization's broader mission to elevate fan and tenant experiences.
With the Braves' home opener on the horizon, fans can catch the action live on Gray through various channels, including PeachtreeTV, Atlanta’s CW Network, and online streaming services. This latest real estate play, timed close to the season's kick-off, could be seen as a smart slice of corporate synergy, merging Atlanta Braves Holdings' interests in sports, entertainment, and now, substantial real estate development within the thriving community of The Battery Atlanta.
