
The Austin Police Department is actively searching for a suspect tied to a robbery at Toy Joy on Burnet Road, a case that's grabbed the attention of the local community. The robbery, detailed in a statement released by APD, took place on March 6, just as the evening settled over the city.
According to the police report, the suspect, described as a Middle Eastern male in his 30s or 40s, walked away with several Lego building sets. The stakes were raised when an employee, in an attempt to intervene, was threatened with a shooting. The suspect was then seen supposedly to escape on foot, heading northbound on Adams Avenue. The police are now seeking videos from doorbell cameras or other surveillance systems that could show the suspect's route through the residential area surrounding Adams and Ulrich Avenue.
Investigators are combing through footage from nearby businesses that captured the suspect departing through the neighborhood. Individuals with potential information are being urged to come forward. Tips can lead not only to a resolution in the case, but also to a financial reward — up to $1,000 for information resulting in an arrest, as noted by the Austin Police Department.
The detailed description of the suspect includes a height of 5’7” to 5’8”, medium build, and black hair with a full beard. His attire at the time of the crime comprised a black mid-length leather jacket, black pants or jeans, and black shoes.
