Last night, a home invasion in Hyde Park led to a flurry of police activity and the subsequent arrest of a 34-year-old Nathaniel Wade, according to Boston Police Department officials. The incident, occurring shortly before midnight, involved Wade allegedly entering a residence on Hyde Park Avenue where he is accused of pointing a gun at the occupant and stealing the victim's keys before making an escape.
The Boston Police Department reported officers were dispatched to 1453 Hyde Park Avenue upon receiving reports of the disturbance; Boston Police Operations provided them with a description of the suspect and the vehicle involved — the officers stationed at District E-18 responded with haste, proving that rapid and precise communication is key in such high-stakes situations, and as an officer left the district station, Wade's vehicle was spotted, what brought the chase to a quick end at 1414 River Street.
Upon stopping the vehicle, both the driver and passenger were ordered out and handcuffed while a firearm was discovered during a pat frisk of the vehicle. The Boston Police Department statement detailed the recovered firearm as a Smith & Wesson AirWeight .38 Special, containing five rounds in the magazine, making the charges against Wade more severe.
Subsequently, Wade faces a multitude of charges including home invasion, unlawful possession of a firearm, and armed robbery, amongst others. He is expected to appear at West Roxbury District Court for his arraignment.
