In Boulder County, affordable housing opportunities are on the horizon for community members in eastern regions, with two open houses scheduled for the beginning of May. The Boulder County Housing Authority will be offering an inside look at below-market-rate rental homes that are becoming available, an effort that emphasizes the county’s commitment to ensuring that housing affordability is not just an aspiration but an attainable reality.
Specifically, residents can mark their calendars for tours at The Spoke on Coffman in Longmont on May 6 and Willoughby Corner in Lafayette on May 8. During these events, participants can explore the homes, clarify eligibility criteria, and receive hands-on assistance with the application process. According to Boulder County, assistance is not merely a service but a bridge to empower potential residents on their path towards securing a home.
The open house at The Spoke on Coffman is set to coincide with a notable community development. Best Day Ever Coffee and Crepes, a workforce development café situated within The Spoke, will celebrate its grand opening during the event. The allure is not just in the aroma of coffee or the delicate layers of a crepe, but in the café's mission to foster local employment and training. Revelers on May 6, between 4 and 6 p.m., have the added temptation of free coffee or a crepe for the first 200 guests.
