Early Monday morning, a series of burglaries occurred at a strip mall in the Boyle Heights neighborhood, causing unease among local business owners and employees. Several businesses, including a Little Caesars, Subway, and BobaNJoy located on the 3400 block of Whittier Boulevard, were targeted, and according to the Los Angeles Police Department, multiple suspects are believed to be involved. As reported by KTLA, the front doors of the establishments were smashed in, which led to the early morning discovery of the crime scene.

Authorities arrived on site at approximately 5:12 a.m. following a burglary call, though by the time officers could search the premises, the suspects were nowhere to be found. Witnesses, such as contractor Zach Logston, who was on the job at an adjacent Wingstop, provided some context. "I was in there working…and the delivery driver came in and told me 'Somebody is breaking into three businesses next door,' and I went out and looked, and there wasn't even anyone there," he told KTLA

The LAPD has not yet released descriptions of the suspects involved. Surveillance footage is currently under review, and police are working with business owners to ascertain the extent of the thefts. Subway employees confirmed to KTLA that an undisclosed amount of cash was taken, but the losses for the other businesses remain uncertain.

Additionally, CBS Los Angeles has revealed that the smashed windows and doors were the primary means of entry for the criminals. The LA community is now urged to stay vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities as the investigation looks to identify and apprehend those responsible for the break-ins.
