Bucks County is inviting its young residents to share their opinions and ideas for revitalizing the region's parks and recreation facilities. A new survey has been launched by Bucks County Parks and Recreation, targeting the adolescent and young adult demographic to inform the future development of the Bucks County Parks System. "One of the most important parts of a comprehensive planning process is hearing from the public themselves," said Parks and Recreation Director Angie Nagle, according to a statement on Bucks County's website. Nagle emphasized the department's eagerness to learn about the preferences of local youth regarding the parks and their visions for potential changes.
Last year, the county gathered insights from over 2,200 community members via an online survey and various pop-up events. Now, looking to expand its outreach, the department has created a new survey specifically for younger residents. Interested individuals are invited to participate in the survey. Additionally, information about the overarching plan can be found on the Comprehensive Recreation, Parks, and Open Space Plan (CRPOS) webpage.
The comprehensive CRPOS Plan aims to reimagine Bucks County’s parks, open spaces, and natural areas as a unified entity, anchored by key principles such as sustainability, accessibility, equity, adaptability to evolving needs, and effective long-term maintenance. The plan is set to propose avant-garde recommendations for enhancing the park system, which currently spans an impressive 9,000 acres, encompassing parks, historic sites, recreational facilities, and nature centers.
