
In a turn of events that could be seen as either a moment of conscience or a bold admission of guilt, a burglary suspect approached a detective in Wahneta and confessed to his crime, Polk County Sheriff's Office reports, the encounter took place during the investigation of a break-in at a local charity organization, witnessed by a bystander yesterday morning. The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Clinton Dale Dean, Jr., was seen entering the building and removing property around 1:15am, according to Polk County Sheriff's Office.
While conducting the investigation, the detective named Clinton Dale Dean, Jr. as the suspect, however in an unexpected twist, Dean saved law enforcement the trouble of tracking him down by returning to the crime scene and initiating a conversation with the detective, it was during this encounter that Dean admitted to his involvement in the burglary. "During that discussion Mr. Dean admitted to the crime," the Polk County Sheriff's Office stated, evidencing the suspect's surprising approach to law enforcement during his own investigation.
Following his admission, Clinton Dale Dean, Jr. was arrested and escorted to jail, where he faces charges of burglary and felony petit theft. Despite the unusual circumstances in which the confession was made, Dean now awaits the legal consequences of his actions.
