Residents in the Cabarrus County have a chance to combine safety and fun at the upcoming Spring into Safety Event, an initiative geared towards promoting public health and safety awareness while offering a slice of community engagement. Set for next Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., the event will unfold at the Cabarrus County EMS Headquarters located at 793 Cabarrus Ave. W, Concord, as reported by the Cabarrus County government's news release.
Fostering a family-friendly atmosphere, Spring into Safety is a joint effort by Cabarrus County's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with Safe Kids Cabarrus. The event will offer practical insights into medication safety, with take-back opportunities for expired or unused drugs, alongside car seat safety checks by certified experts to ensure the wellbeing of the county's youngest residents. In addition, a variety of fun activities are planned to engage attendees of all ages.
As folks take in the safety demonstrations and interactive sessions, local flavors will be on deck to serve up sweet and savory treats. Vendors including What-A Burger, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee, Amigo Taqueria, and Kona Ice will ensure that no one goes hungry or thirsty while participating in the event's offerings.
The sense of community is further sweetened by giveaways, as the first 1,000 people to arrive will receive a prize—a choice between a vinyl decal or magnet designed to promote parking lot safety. This token serves as a visual reminder of the day's core message and will continue to echo the importance of safety in the community long after the event has concluded. This event is not only an opportunity to educate and inform but also a testament to Cabarrus County's commitment to its residents' safety, as was outlined in the county's news release.
