The Clayton County Board of Commissioners is launching its Trash Amnesty Days initiative to help residents with spring cleaning. This program allows Clayton County residents, with a valid ID, to dispose of trash and bulk items free of charge. The initiative is a collaboration between the Clayton County Department of Corrections and the Department of Transportation and Development, as per the Clayton County Government website.
Residents are reminded to separate their waste, as certain items are not accepted, including materials containing asbestos, hazardous waste, flammable items, automobile and rechargeable batteries, tube TVs, liquids, medical waste, and tires. This is to ensure safety and proper disposal.
The program has seen strong community participation, helping to declutter homes and improve the county’s environment. The event also aims to prevent illegal dumping and improve local aesthetics. For more details on dates and accepted items, residents can visit Clayton County's website.
