DeKalb County has launched a significant infrastructure project—the replacement of over 16,000 linear feet of water mains on Rosewood Road, which commenced yesterday. New 8-inch and 12-inch ductile iron pipes will be replacing the old water lines in a bid to enhance water service capacity in the area, with the expected completion of the work being March 2026, subject to weather conditions, as reported by DeKalb County Government's official news release.
Residents along Rosewood Road should brace for increased construction noise, traffic disruptions during normal operation hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, although holidays will offer a respite from the disturbance. The county has stated that construction will be contained within these hours to minimize the impact on local life.
Questions and concerns regarding the project can be directed to the Department of Watershed Management (DWM) by calling their Project Information Line at 1-800-986-1108 or by sending an email to [email protected]. Furthermore, DeKalb County offered a virtual community meeting on April 17, just before starting the replacement works, to furnish residents with more details and respond to inquiries.
