A west Charlotte home was the site of two fires this past weekend, with the latest blaze occurring on Sunday afternoon. Charlotte firefighters were first called to the 3000 block of Sloan Drive on Saturday, to extinguish flames in a vacant bedroom of the house. This incident was detailed by WBTV, which reported that the cause of the fire was under investigation, but no immediate information was available about the origin.
Within 24 hours, the same residence was engulfed in flames once again. The second fire was reported by QC News to have started around 4:35 p.m. Sunday.
The house was "fully involved," requiring firefighters to battle the blaze that took 25 minutes to bring under control, according to the WBTV.
Officials confirmed that there were no injuries from either of the fires that weekend. The repeated incidents have raised concerns about safety and the structural integrity of the building, which now has witnessed flames twice in a span as short as a day.
