Eden Prairie's own Officer Ryan Kuffel was recently honored with a Legacy Award for Community Leader of the Year by the Foundation for Eden Prairie Schools, as detailed in an announcement from the EPPD. Her recognition comes from committed work as a juvenile liaison officer, a role she has fulfilled for several stretches, currently serving at Central Middle School, Cedar Ridge Elementary, and Forest Hills Elementary.
Officer Kuffel's dedication to the community extends beyond school grounds; she's been to definitively tackle tough child abuse cases with a blend of steadfast resolve and heartfelt compassion. Her impact hasn't gone unnoticed, earning her Eden Prairie's Officer of the Year award in 2021 and following that up with the Toward Zero Deaths Star Award in 2022 for her dedication to child passenger safety.
The Foundation's award spotlights someone "having a direct impact on students' passions for learning, creating a positive, supportive and respectful learning atmosphere where students flourish: demonstrating exemplary professionalism and high personal integrity; and showing enthusiastic love of children with a commitment to student, school and district excellence" according to the EPPD blog post.
